Ventilation: Description

Shipping containers are designed to carry and hold cargo during overseas shipping. Containers have a very small pressure vent installed as part of the original design but when repurposing or modifying shipping containers into permanent storage or residential housing, you’ll need a better solution.

Adding insulation, a heating and cooling system, or extra ventilation is key to a comfortable and climate-controlled container. This is especially important when the container is used in extremely hot and/or extremely cold environments. Shipping container ventilation helps eliminate condensation and removes excessive heat buildup.

Specialized installations, such as active vents or passive vents, can be added to the top and/or bottom of each shipping container. Passive ventilation systems use natural air currents to establish airflow, while active vents require electricity as they use mechanical fans to circulate air throughout the container.
