Heating & Air Conditioning: Description

HVAC systems, or heating, ventilation, and air conditioning are an important part of any shipping container conversion project. Adding heating and air conditioning to your new or used containers is a smart option for maintaining the interior climate and preventing mold, mildew, and condensation.

If you only plan on using the container for basic storage purposes then the small factory-installed vents are usually adequate. However; if you plan on turning your containers into a guesthouse, art studio, guard shack, or pop-up restaurant you need a better way to manage proper airflow and maintain an ambient temperature.

Window-mounted air conditioning units are fine for smaller containers, but you’ll want to go with an exterior wall-mounted AC to properly filter and circulate the air within larger containers. And, if your containers are exposed to major temperature fluctuations, baseboard heaters provide much-needed warmth in cooler climates.

Adding an HVAC system to a container requires cutting through the steel walls, framing out the opening, and installing the system to ensure it is properly sealed. We have various sizes of HVAC units to heat and cool everything from 10-foot one trip containers to 40-foot high cube containers and everything in between.
