Description
Some projects require full side wall removal. Whether you are planning on placing containers together or just want an open side exposed we can remove sidewalls very cleanly. Anytime a side wall is removed we brace the container with a steel beam for transport so there is no sagging. This can only be done on containers that have 4 corner posts for support.
We have a great deal of expertise when your project requires a cutout for doors, windows, or other custom purposes. Some companies do not provide steel framing around their cutouts which can be dangerous due to sharp edges being exposed. All of our cutouts are framed with 2” X 2” steel tubing unless otherwise requested. We also have 2” X 4” tubing for an additional cost.
Joining cargo containers together can be a very cost-effective modification that will create a large space for an office, control room, living area, guest house, or garage utilizing shipping containers.
Frequently Asked Questions
For tilt-bed delivery, a 20-foot container requires approximately 60 feet of straight clearance, while a 40-foot container requires approximately 120 feet. This allows the truck to pull forward as the container slides into place.
Allow approximately 12 feet of width for access. The delivery area should be firm, reasonably level, and clear of overhead obstructions such as power lines and tree branches. If you’re unsure about your site, send us photos so we can help assess access before scheduling.
Shipping containers in good condition are wind and watertight, protecting your belongings from rain and outside moisture when the doors are properly closed. Their steel construction also provides strong protection against rodents, provided the door seals are intact and there are no gaps or openings.
A new, one-trip shipping container can last 25 years or more with proper care. Used containers can also provide many additional years of storage, depending on their existing condition, environment, and maintenance.
Keeping the container on a well-drained surface, addressing rust early, and maintaining the roof and door seals can help extend its life.
We have containers moving in and out of our yard daily, so your exact unit typically won’t be accessible for photos until the day before delivery. We can send photos at that time. Before purchasing, we can provide representative photos to show the condition and type of container you can expect.
You may need a permit, depending on your city or county, the property’s zoning, and how long the container will remain onsite. Requirements can also vary based on whether it’s used for storage, an office, or another purpose.
Before purchasing or scheduling delivery, contact your local planning or building department to confirm permit requirements and placement restrictions, including distances from property lines and buildings.
Standard container delivery typically takes 3–5 business days after payment is received, depending on availability, your location, and the delivery schedule. Containers requiring modifications will need additional time.
We’ll confirm the estimated timeframe when you place your order, and our logistics team will contact you a couple of days before delivery to confirm timing.
